Leto works in two ways:

1. As a free partnership for PTAs and other organizations.
   1. Leto processes organization-wide communication from these partners.
   2. Families receive access for free to those organization-wide communications, via these organization partnerships

   1. Leto connects to up to 3 email accounts and processes incoming messages — including linked newsletters, PDF attachments, and images — from your schools, PTA, sports leagues, and other organizations.
   2. We extract the dates, deadlines, and action items from those emails, and turn them into tasks and calendar events.
   3. Subscribe to your Leto calendar feed, and everything shows up automatically in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or any calendar app you use.

How do I sign up?

Click “Get Started” and create your account. You’ll start a 21-day free trial of Premium Family—no charges until the trial ends. During setup, you connect your email accounts and approve which email senders we process. You’ll be up and running in minutes.

What’s the difference between Free and Premium Family?

Free access is available when your PTA or school partners with Leto—parents at that organization get tasks and events from organization-wide communications at no cost. Premium Family subscriptions let you connect your own email accounts and process messages from any sender you choose—whether or not your organization has partnered with Leto. Premium Family also supports up to 3 email inboxes, both parents on one account, smart sender discovery, and more.

Does my school, PTA, or other organization need to be a Leto partner?

No, not for Premium Family subscriptions—these work independently from any organization partnerships. Connect your inbox and Leto processes emails from any organization you choose. If your PTA does partner with Leto, every family at that organization gets free access to organization-wide communication, on top of what Premium Family covers.

How do I get a handle on all these school emails?

Is there a way to automatically get tasks from school emails?

Yes. Leto processes your school emails and automatically creates tasks from the action items inside — permission slips to sign, forms to fill out, payments due, volunteer signups, and more. Tasks appear on your dashboard and calendar feed without any manual entry.

Does Leto read linked newsletters and attachments, not just the email text?

Yes. Many school emails contain a link to an online newsletter or attach a PDF flyer instead of putting the information directly in the email body. Leto follows those links and processes those attachments so you don’t miss anything.

Newsletter fetching happens directly on Leto’s servers — content is never sent to a third-party scraping service. PDF attachments and images are analyzed by our AI provider (Anthropic) to extract dates and event details. Everything is processed and then discarded; only the extracted tasks and events are kept.

What data do you store?

We store the tasks and calendar events we extract, along with your account information and approved email sender mappings. We do not permanently store full email bodies, PDF attachments, images, or linked newsletter content — we process them, extract what matters, and discard the originals. All personal information is encrypted at rest and in transit.

Can I delete my data?

Yes, anytime. You can delete your account and all associated data permanently from your account settings. We’ll remove everything. For the full picture of your rights, see our Security & Privacy page.

Do you sell my data or show me ads?

Never. We make money from subscriptions, not from your family’s information. Your data is never shared with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else. No ads. No data sales. That’s the whole deal.

Does Leto read my emails?

Leto only processes emails from senders you explicitly choose. We never process your full inbox. When you connect your email, we check sender names and subject lines to show you who is emailing you. You pick which senders Leto processes. Only then do we extract tasks and events from those emails.

Is Leto safe for my children’s data?

Yes. Leto is designed with family safety as a priority. We have completed CASA Tier 2 verification — an independent security audit required by Google. We use AES-256 encryption for all stored data, follow NIST cybersecurity standards, and never sell or share your personal information. Leto does not collect data directly from children — it only processes emails that parents choose to monitor.

Has Leto been independently security-audited?

Yes. Leto has completed CASA Tier 2 verification — an independent security assessment conducted by TAC Security, an accredited lab, under Google's Cloud Application Security Assessment program. The audit covers application security, data handling, encryption, and access controls, tested against OWASP standards. Verified March 2026.

What is CASA Tier 2 verification?

CASA (Cloud Application Security Assessment) is Google’s security verification program for apps that access sensitive user data like Gmail. Tier 2 requires an independent security assessment by an accredited lab, testing against OWASP application security standards. Leto completed CASA Tier 2 verification in March 2026, conducted by TAC Security.

Is Leto’s Gmail access secure?

Yes. Leto has completed CASA Tier 2 verification — an independent security audit required by Google for apps that access Gmail. Leto can only view your emails — it can never send, delete, or modify them. All personal data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and our data handling practices have been independently reviewed.

Is it safe to connect Gmail to Leto?

Yes. Leto has completed CASA Tier 2 verification — an independent security audit required by Google for third-party apps that access Gmail. Leto can only view your emails — it can never send, delete, or change anything in your inbox. All personal data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. You can disconnect at any time from your Google Account settings.

Does Leto collect data from children?

No. Leto processes emails from parent email accounts. Children do not have Leto accounts and never interact with the platform directly. Leto does not collect personal information from children.

Does my school need to approve Leto?

No. Leto connects to your personal email account — not to school systems. Your school or PTA does not need to sign a data agreement for you to use Leto. Leto does not receive student records from schools and does not operate as a school data processor.

Which calendars do you support?

Any calendar app that supports iCal feeds: Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook, and more. You subscribe once with a calendar feed link, and tasks and events appear automatically. No manual entry, no additional apps to install.

Can both parents use Leto?

Yes. Each parent gets their own login, their own task assignments, and their own calendar feed. Premium Family supports up to 3 connected email inboxes, so school emails that go to one parent or the other all get covered. You can also invite any other adult to your account—stay in sync with your partner, nanny, nonna, nama, or nana.

How do SMS reminders work?

Every day, Leto sends a brief text message that lets the adults in your family know what tasks are due that day, or coming up within a few days. Wake up knowing what’s on the list—without opening your email or the web application. SMS reminders are included with both Free and Premium Family.

What email providers can I use?

Currently we support Gmail accounts, with plans to support other email providers that support standard email authentication in the near future.

How is Leto different from other school email apps?

Leto is purpose-built for busy parents who are overwhelmed by school emails. Unlike generic email apps, Leto automatically extracts tasks, deadlines, and events from your school emails and organizes them into actionable lists. Does Leto work with Outlook or Yahoo?

Currently, Leto supports Gmail and Google Workspace accounts only. Support for additional email providers like Outlook and Yahoo is on our roadmap. Sign up for updates to be notified when new providers are added.

What’s the Pioneer Program?

The Pioneer Program gives the first 5 families at each organization Premium Family access free for 1 year. Pioneers help build Leto for their school community by confirming which email senders belong to new organizations. Check availability during signup, and when you add new organizations to your account.

What happens after my Premium Family trial ends?

Your 21-day trial includes full Premium Family access. When the trial ends, continue at $12/year. If you cancel before the trial ends, you won’t be charged anything. Either way, your tasks and events are always saved.

Can I use Leto without paying?

Yes, if your PTA or school has partnered with Leto. Free access covers tasks and events from organization-wide communications, daily SMS reminders, and a household calendar feed. If your organization hasn’t partnered yet, you can start a 21-day Premium Family trial for free, or ask your PTA to partner with Leto—it’s free!

Can I try Leto before paying?

How does my PTA get started with Leto?

Get in touch and we’ll handle the setup. Your PTA signs a partnership agreement, and adds a unique email address to their distribution list. Invitation links are sent out by your PTA or Leto, and families are able to opt in (organizations may also utilize our email whitelist feature to provide access).

Is Leto really free for organizations?

Yes. Leto is completely free for every PTA, school, sports league, afterschool program, and childcare provider. Organizations don’t pay anything—and don’t need to change how they communicate. We generate revenue from Premium Family subscriptions.

What does my organization need to do?

Keep sending emails like normal. That’s it! No new tools, no new workflows.

Organizations add a unique email address to their distribution list when they sign the partnership agreement, and we handle everything from there. Families opt in on their own.
